World Bee Day

World Bee Day

Tuesday 20 May 2025

World Bee Day raises awareness of the importance of protecting bees and other pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to a sustainable future. This year’s theme is ‘Bee inspired by nature to nourish us all’. The UN theme highlights that bees nourish everyone, not just in the important role they play in food production but in our broader environment. The threats to bees are well known – habitat loss, intensive farming practises, diseases and pests are all contributing to stressed pollinators. Read on to learn some easy ways to help bees and discover our very own Wallace Cotton bee.

Our Wallace Cotton bee

The design of our bee motif was created in-house to celebrate Mother Nature’s busiest little helper and from 2019 onwards, has regularly featured in our collections.

Here’s what our design team had to say about their bee design…

“Every season we look to nature for inspiration for new designs to feature on cushion covers, kitchen and bathroom ranges. We've created collections featuring palm trees, flowers and native birds, but the most popular design every season by far has been our bee motif. Our bee motif is a simple yet classic design that has created a dedicated and passionate following. Hand-drawn and painted in-house, we play with colour and texture for the best result. Once our design has been finalised, it is printed or embroidered onto our products ready for our lovely and bee loyal customers”.

Collections featuring our bee design

Our iconic Wallace Cotton bee design has returned, reimagined in new styles and shades. From our Beekeeper kitchen and dining range and our Honeybee linen tea towel to our Bee trivet set and Bee cushion covers, we have something for every bee lover.
