Summer entertaining tips and recipes for sharing

We love the relaxed living that summer brings with long light evenings to spend with friends and family. Whether it’s a drinks party, family BBQ or a festive celebration, here are our tips for effortless entertaining this summer.

Entertaining tips

Get organised – plan the menu, decide the guest list and send a save the date message. Prepare as much of your food in advance as you can, so you’re able to relax and enjoy your guests. Keep it simple with a cheese board to start, your main course followed by summer berries and coconut ice cream – the fewer dishes to cook the better!

Drinks ready

Set up a drinks trolley or tray with ice, glassware, herbs, mixers and drinks and prepare an aperitif in advance to welcome your guests on arrival. Be a responsible host and have alcohol alternatives available such as sparkling water, kombucha or a refreshing summery drink such as Ruby’s Starship Sprizter.

Table styling

Always start with a good quality cotton or linen tablecloth and set of napkins. For a relaxed look, mix and match tablecloths and napkins in different colours or textures and pile up the plates, cutlery and glassware ready for a crowd. If your get together has a theme, add decorations to match including flowers and foliage for a touch of nature.

Hosting tips

Scent your home with beautiful fragrance to create an inviting and welcoming space. Delight your guests with a small gift as part of your table setting or in a basket by the door to take as they leave. Make your bathroom guest ready with clean hand towels, fresh hand soap and give the smallest room in the house a quick refresh.
