Colour forecast for the year ahead
Colour is a key element of our product design. Colour can affect the way you feel and the way a room feels. Colour is considered across all our collections, for its relevance, how well it coordinates with other pieces and for its timeless appeal. We design our ranges in-house while embracing and referencing current colour trends. Read on to discover the 2026 colour trend forecast from our textile design team.
Design Q&A
We asked our in-house textile team to share their thoughts on the year ahead.
Q: What colour trends are you forecasting for 2026?
A: International colour trends for 2026 are all about hues that feel grown, natural not manufactured. Brown tones are considered a warm neutral, a grounding layer which connects naturally with trending tones of mossy greens, earthy ochre and natural earthen shades, from stone through to clay pinks. Rich, deep reds in merlot and sangria are still key for evoking a sense of warmth and luxury and work beautifully with earthy tones and soft pinks. Blues are sky-inspired in hazy mid-tones that reference clouds and lightness, as well as taking a turn towards teal as a sophisticated hue representing renewal and eco-consciousness. Peaceful white is also re-emerging as a trending hue in interiors, as a serene foundation for other trend colours.
Q: Based on your 2026 trend forecast, which four key colours are you picking for the season ahead?
A: We’ve incorporated the trending hues of ivory white, cocoa brown, willow green and haze blue into our designs for the coming months. These shades offer a grounding feel perfect for creating calming spaces to live, relax and sleep in.
Q: How do you see these colours being used in our collections?
A: We are embracing these colour trends with intention, in a way that resonates with the Wallace Cotton aesthetic. Rich and varied colour palettes are perfect for the cooler months, where our collections feature chocolate, cocoa and merlot tones alongside soft willow greens and haze blues. In warmer months, our palette takes a fresher direction with softer blues, sage greens, sangria and pinks. Summer is a great time to use natural sand tones, beachy blues, cool greens and warm sunset shades.
Q: Describe the inspiration behind the designs arriving in 2026.
A: We are always inspired by nature and bringing a sense of the outside in. Our 2026 designs were inspired by wildflowers, forest canopies, blossoms and blooms and of course, bees. Alongside these concepts, there are modern takes on classic checks, stripes and beautiful fabric textures for creating layered luxury.
