Our Winter Moodboard

Bringing The Outdoors In

The designs in our collections always draw inspiration from the natural environment. Our recent collection is reminiscent of the restful shades of a New Zealand winter. And as the days shorten and cool, we naturally want to spend more time indoors. So, when designing this collection, our minds wandered to cosy evenings spent by a roaring fire, being rugged up in knitted woollen sweaters and sipping on hot chocolate to defrost from a chilly day out. And the warmth and comfort that comes from hosting close friends and family for home-cooked meals, snuggling up with the kids to watch a favourite film and enjoying more time spent in our dreamy beds.

Read on to discover our design team’s inspiration for winter 23 and be inspired to find happiness enjoying the great indoors of your home.

Drawing Inspiration

Members of our Design and Production teams spent time in Europe during January 2023. Exploring favourite cities during the chilly Northern hemisphere winter and discovering new patterns and designs sparked their inspiration. Learn more from our team about how the colour palette and feel of our Autumn Winter 2023 collection came together.

“When we start designing a collection, we look to a wide range of inspiration sources but we are mainly inspired by nature. When you look properly at leaf and flower shapes and colours they are just incredible. We draw much of our inspiration from these, whether it be for design subject or colour. The look and feel of the AW23 collection references New Zealand’s winter landscapes, in colour and subject. Layers of texture and pattern, earthy and warm tones alongside crisp whites and icy blue and grey hues”. Zoe, Textile Designer

“Our AW23 collection is designed around feelings of comfort and cosying up. Deep colours and earthy tones are layered together to create a beautiful, warm and inviting collection. Dark blues, mossy greens and toffee tones are balanced by calming grey and crisp whites. The collection has an abundance of beautiful texture from lush velvets, soft flannel bedding, relaxed linen, cosy merino and woven cotton throws”. Amy, Textile Designer

Enjoying The Great Indoors

Nothing makes us happier than designing collections that our customers will love, cherish and enjoy for years to come. We hope that as you’re reading this, you’re sitting on a comfy sofa wrapped up in a soft blanket, sipping a cup of something warm and feeling relaxed – that lovely cosy feeling that a winter spent at home brings.

Slow down and take pleasure in the simple things for an enjoyable winter life at home. Plan a winter menu and gather friends and family for regular supper nights, taking extra pride in laying a beautiful table and serving comforting food. Set up a jigsaw puzzle on a table that won’t be needed so you can take your time completing it over winter. Catch up on your reading tucked up by a roaring fire and light fragrant candles to fill your home with beautiful scent. Treat yourself to a little self-care with long luxurious soaks in the tub and well-deserved sleep ins.

For a dreamy winter bed to spend more time in, the scattered leafy pattern in tranquil blue hues of our Indigo Dreams bedding is serene and calming. A view best enjoyed from under the covers!
