Spending a weekend or even a day at home doing absolutely nothing, is a rare and luxurious treat to be savoured and enjoyed. We’ve taken inspiration from our new season collections and tips from our team to design the perfect weekend of cosy indulgence.

What to wear: PJs and robes

Start your day with a luxurious lie in. Nothing says you’ve got nothing planned more than not having to get up with your alarm. What to wear: loungewear

When you feel the time is right to get dressed (no pressure though!), we recommend swapping your PJs for our Cotton Cashmere separates. What to cook, eat and snack on

As the weather cools, we begin to think about putting comfort food back on the menu again. A healthy but heartwarming dish to enjoy on a cosy day at home is our warm roast vege salad. A great base to easily add protein to such as a grilled chicken breast, a piece of smoked salmon or marinated tofu. If you don’t feel like cooking (and fair enough too!), we suggest a grazing platter which can be enjoyed all afternoon from the comfort of your sofa. A starter menu could be a selection of cheeses, seed crackers, olives, smoked salmon, fresh dates, dried apricots, almonds, halved cherry tomatoes, prosciutto, sliced peppers, sliced celery and baby carrots with healthy dips such as hummus. A must have for finishing up a cosy day at home is a movie with snacks. Chocolate or popcorn anyone?

What to watch and read, our team picks

Relaxing at home doing nothing definitely includes getting lost in a good book and/or binge watching a series. Here are a couple of our team recommendations for you to enjoy, snuggled under the comfort of a cosy Artisan throw or Winton woollen blanket on the sofa.
Streaming:
Quirky comedy – Schitt’s Creek is an oldy but a goodie and with six seasons there are plenty of episodes to keep you entertained all weekend long. The story of a wealthy family who lose everything and end up living in a small town called ‘Schitt’s Creek’ and the challenges they face adapting to their new life.
Books:
Easy read – Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty. A mystery unfolds in snippets and whispers, a suspected murder, a missing body, but every witness has their own story. A gripping page turner about the Delaney family which has also been made into a series staring our very own Sam Neill, available on TVNZ+.
Serious read – Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. A story of the formation of Biafra as an independent state of Nigeria in the late 1960’s during the Nigerian civil war, shown through the lives of five main characters. Interesting, informative and heartbreaking.
