Our fabric certifications

Our fabric certifications
We believe in using the finest natural fabrics from sustainable and renewable sources for our collections. For our peace of mind (and yours), we collaborate with a handful of carefully chosen suppliers who carry the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, the Global Organic Textile Standard certification
(GOTS), the European Flax certification and the DOWNPASS certification.
These organisations oversee the production process to ensure a more transparent and
accountable supply chain for our products. And this means we’re working with suppliers whose ethical and sustainable principles align with our own.
Please note: we do not label our products with certifications as the certification is awarded to our suppliers, not Wallace Cotton, and in turn identifies our suppliers as part of the labelling. We value and cherish our suppliers, they are our trade secret, our point of difference and therefore we do not wish to reveal them to anyone, especially our competitors! Read on to learn more about each of the certifications.
*STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® Certification ensures manufacturers have adhered to environmentally friendly production methods. Products have been tested and proven free of harmful levels of toxic substances.
*Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) ensures organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing to provide a credible assurance to the end consumer.

GOTS Certification
Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) ensures organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing to provide a credible assurance to the end consumer. With a clearly defined set of transparent criteria, GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
GOTS certified final products may include fibre products, yarns, fabrics, clothes and home textiles. Having one common standard means textile processors and manufacturers can export their fabrics and garments with one organic certification that is accepted in all major markets. This transparency also gives consumers the power to choose truly organic products sourced from green supply chains.

European Flax Certification
Linen is a sustainable, natural fabric that requires little water for its production and is completely biodegradable. Linen fabric is made from the cellulose fibres that grow inside the leaves of the flax plant. The whole
plant is used in the linen making process, creating minimal wastage during production. Flax plants need little watering compared to growing cotton. Due to the strength and durability of flax linen fibres, linen fabric creates bedding and clothing which can last a lifetime. The European Flax® certification is the guarantee of traceability for premium linen fibre grown in Europe. A natural and sustainable fibre, cultivated without artificial irrigation and GMO free.

OEKO-TEX Certification
Often awarded in conjunction with other certifications, OEKO-TEX is a consistent
worldwide certification system for the textile industry. Certified manufacturers must adhere to environmentally friendly production methods, without the use of banned colourants or harmful chemicals and with consideration for the recycling and thoughtful dispersal of water, among other factors. STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® Certification ensures products have been tested and proven free of harmful levels of toxic substances.

DOWNPASS Certification
Our Downtime bedding is made by carefully chosen suppliers who have been awarded the internationally recognised DOWNPASS certification. This certification guarantees that our suppliers processes and supply chain are regularly audited and inspected. This ensures that all feather and down material is collected ethically as a bi-product, is thoroughly cleaned and of good quality to meet our rigorous standards and
expectations. DOWNPASS Certification guarantees high quality and certainty that
down and feathers used as filling material are ethically sourced and come from
tightly controlled and traceable supply chains.
