Caring for silk and modal

Silk and modal are beautifully soft fabrics. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of pure silk against your skin, whether it’s wearing a nightie or resting your head on a pillowcase (or both). Follow laundering instructions carefully for silk as it is a luxurious, delicate fabric that requires special care to maintain its beauty and lustre.

Modal is made using natural cellulose fibres from wood pulp, creating a plant based fabric that is comfortable, breathable and soft on the skin making it perfect for sleepwear. Our modal sleepwear collections offer style and comfort in beautiful mix and match sleep separates.

SLEEPWEAR BUYING GUIDE

Care instructions for washing silk pillowcases and nighties
Gentle cold hand wash with mild laundry powder or liquid.
Wash separately.
Dry in flat in shade.
Cool iron only.
Do not tumble dry.
Do not soak. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. Bleach can weaken bed linen fabric, and fabric softener contains silicon which creates a waterproof coating on textiles.

Cold machine wash with mild laundry powder or liquid.
Wash separately.
Line dry in shade, do not leave wet.
Warm iron.
Do not tumble dry.
Do not soak. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. Bleach can weaken bed linen fabric, and fabric softener contains silicon which creates a waterproof coating on textiles.

Top Tip – launder sleepwear items in one of our delicates bags to protect them during the wash cycle.
