Starship, Ruby Seeto and Wallace Cotton
Ruby Seeto has been working with Wallace Cotton since 2009, when she was just a nine-year-old cancer survivor, designing colourful tea towels to raise funds for Starship, our national children’s hospital.SHOP THE COLLECTION
Raising funds together
Together we have raised more than $500,000 through the sale of Ruby’s tea towels. Ruby’s Kiwi Breakfast Bowl for Starship design from 2019 raised over $42,000 to help equip the Day Stay Unit with a digital wall display to help calm and distract children as they wait for their appointments.
Funds raised through the sale of Ruby’s tea towels have supported multiple projects in the Starship Hospital, including the Oncology ward, the neonatal simulation programme, supporting an international training fellowship for a Specialist Starship Oncologist and helping towards the setup of an ovarian tissue cryopreservation banking protocol for New Zealand Haematology-Oncology Services.
Ruby’s Starship Spritzer
This year Ruby has designed a delicious and refreshing recipe for her new Wallace Cotton tea towel. Her Starship Spritzer is fizzy and fun for everyone to enjoy on a warm day. Her tea towel design has pretty tones of lavender and lemon with sweet buzzy bees adding their honey.
Proceeds from Ruby’s new Starship Spritzer tea towel will go towards equipment for the Heart Ward and is available to purchase online and instore.
