All About: Velvet

The sumptuous look and feel of velvet makes it perfect for bedding and homeware in the cooler months. Velvet fabric is made in a pile weave where threads are woven over wires forming loops which are then cut. The resulting textile has dense, short, even piles which creates a soft, downy surface with a gentle sheen. While our velvet collections are made from pure cotton, velvet was first created using silk making the fabric very expensive. Only royalty and the wealthy could afford such luxurious textiles, adding to the allure and exclusivity of velvet.
