Autumn Design Q&A

29 Feb, 2024

Introducing our autumn ’24 collection

The arrival of autumn signals the transition to cosy layers and knitted jumpers, rugged up afternoons on the sofa and evenings by the fire. Our new collection captures the feeling of autumn, created in plush textures, natural fabrics and hand-painted patterns to offer comfort and warmth for the cooler months ahead. Our timeless bedding and beautiful home essentials are designed for living with a little luxury every day, and our loungewear and sleepwear for hibernating in cosy contentment. We chatted with our design team to learn about the inspiration behind our autumn collection and which pieces are their favourite picks from the new season.

Q: What inspired the designs of the autumn ‘24 collection?

A: For our autumn 2024 seasonal range, our creative team used art as their inspiration, from different art movements and eras to artistic styles and mixed media. Our seasonal colours were inspired by rich tones from landscape oil paintings, with patterns inspired by art nouveau and folk art, and a range of art materials from graphite and acrylic to watercolour paintings. Our autumn collection reflects this inspiration in our Bellevue bed linen, Palmera bedding, Renaissance and Manor velvets, our Dreamscape and Terrain homeware and our sleepwear ranges.

Q: What inspired the beautiful design of the Bellevue bedding collection?

A: The design of our Bellevue bed linen was inspired by the art nouveau movement of the early 1920s and features a highly decorative design. Created in-house and hand-painted using water colours, the intertwined floral design offers beautiful colour and pattern. You can see the painterly brush strokes and water colour effect in the finished fabric and the colour palette of ambers, blues and greens on white means coordinated styling is super easy. Our colour carrier for autumn, Belleveue organic cotton bed linen is designed to mix with our Renaissance velvet colours and seasonal throws for effortless layering.

Q: Talk us through the inspiration for the Dreamscape and Terrain designs?

A: For our autumn collection we were inspired by art as a general theme; the use of different mediums like watercolour, sketchy pencil and paint texture, as well as tones from nature. The colours of our velvet range this autumn are beautiful landscape tones of sienna, forest green, lagoon blue and charcoal. We wanted to create two abstract landscape artworks in these colours that could be printed onto linen for accent cushions within the range. ‘Terrain’ is more of a gestural abstract in green tones, and ‘Dreamscape’ features abstract rolling hills with a dreamy blue grey skyscape.

Team picks from our new autumn collection

We asked our design team to pick their favourite pieces from our new collection and tell us where they’ll be styled in their homes.

Zoe, Senior Textile Designer:

From our Autumn season I’m eyeing up the Palmera duvet, to swap out my summery Mallorca palm duvet to more of an autumnal botanical look. I’ll style this cosied up and layered with my faithful white waffle Hudson duvet and charcoal tones in pillowcases and throws. I’m also keen on some Margot sleepwear, the green gingham print is such a nice shade and the modal fabric is silky-smooth and beautiful to wear. I’d love a cotton cashmere cardi too. I love this new longline style for office or lounge layering, it will be hard to choose between the green or the black.

Amy, Senior Textile Designer:

Autumn is always my favourite season to work on, I love the richness and depth of the colour and the cosy textures. My picks for the season are the Odette cushion cover and Odette embroidered cushion cover, which I’d coordinate with Manor velvet cushions in forest green and lagoon blue, to update my living room sofa. I also LOVE the charcoal/natural Reed Muslin Throw and how the yarns weave together to create tonal hue of colour in a large check, so I will definitely be getting one of those.
